A bad attitude is like a flat tyre - it's not going to get you very far.
The Educator & Employer's Lament.
In any potential training or employment scenario, the cost of bringing the 'wrong' person into the system is very, very expensive. Time, resources, disciplinary procedures and irritation are all factors.
If the position is customer-facing, the potential fallout can be felt even further.
How many 'flat tyres' have you got or experienced in your system? I've had dozens…
With all of the new-fangled electronic availability, C.V. (Resumè) fabrication is a very real problem and can be difficult to expose. Candidates regularly offer 'fake it till they make it' interview-behaviour with astonishing ease. Without your knowledge of the reality…
But…
Most of this group fail to deliver on their potential due to the basic premise that their skills or experience are false.
Since the days of a good 'A.C.K.' * are long gone, we have to find a better way to sort out who is worth spending limited resources on.
* Attitude Correction Klap. - another quaint South African term for the explosive arrival of a palm on a defaulter's cheek…
Enter again the amazing Q.R. code and its power to identify, manage and inform. This is stuff we wish we all had years ago to 'track-'n-trace' information.
We have created our own bespoke computer coding system that does amazing things in sorting data and extracting information in a way that is a revelation. We can now get to see, interpret and understand student/ employee relationships and interactions. Trends become more visible when grouped in like-for-like comparisons.
The technical term is 'Data-Analytics'.
With our Program System, we get to become “THE FILTER” of nonsense regarding positive behavioural traits in people's interactions with emphasis on training, capabilities and experience. We want to entice and encourage as many young minds as possible in the most effective way. To assist in achieving this goal, we have to place many 'carrots of encouragement' along the path to fulfilment. There must be tangible achievements and practical benefits available to active participants in our quest to unlock the potential we all know is hiding out there.
But.
We also need to deter and bypass any malcontents that are definitely in the shrubbery.
This is a simple fact of life: - There are people who are resource-suckers and disrupters.
It's not within our knowledge or scope to address their issues, we simply need to manoeuvre around them and not let them block others who have the right attitudes.
Get-up/ dress-up/ show-up/ grow-up/ do-the-job.
Every student, teacher, instructor and supplier gets a unique code number that identifies them to our System.
Once registered, personal identities are locked down as per POPIA (Privacy Act) and all results of training, attendance and feedback are logged into their respective C.V.'s (Resumè).
That's the trick. Or part of it.
We build a C.V. for each person, without fear or favour, in order to create a fair and accurate profile for future educators, potential educational funders, parents and employers. If there is a potential problem, we can make parents and/or educators aware so that positive corrective measures can be put into place. All with full parental consent and information protection. Remember, everyone is just a number in the system. No identities disclosed.
Over a period of several years (we have 150 kits), a pattern of behaviour and proof of capability will be revealed.
Most of the 'wanna-bees' will have fallen off the program because of our requirement for project feedback from each kit sent out. No feedback/results = no more kits. As The Donald says: FAFO.
