AirVenture at Oshkosh in the USA is the world's biggest fly in, regularly visited by 12,000 plus aircraft and more than 500,000 visitors over the seven days.
Our flight this year
For us South Africans getting to Oshkosh is an adventure on its own. On previous visits we have travelled by Air France via Charles de Gaule, KLM via Amsterdam and on numerous occasions with Etihad via Abu Dhabi. This year, as in the past we were again part of Neil Bowden's AirAdventure tour and our journey with Qatar via Doha to Chigaco took approximately 23 hours excluding the three hour bus ride to Oshkosh in Wisconsin.
