Oshkosh 2016-Day One- Interesting Aircraft and air show

By Juri Keyter and Willie Bodenstein

Video Summary

In glorious hot weather, Airventure 2016 at Oshkosh kicked off to a roaring start.

Boding well for the show, the fact that more than ever before aircraft were parked at Warbirds and the late afternoon arrival of two F4 Phantoms and two Sabres as well as two P80 Shooting Stars will add to what promise to be a veritable feast of legendary aircraft of WWII and other conflicts.

The afternoon airshow thrilled the crowds who again flocked to AirVenture this year. The aircraft parking areas are almost all full and it seems as if 2016 will be another record year.

The highlight of the day was definitely the first appearance of the huge Martin Mars water bomber. Only two are currently airworthy.

Judging from the first day Oshkosh 2016 will probably one of the best. The rest of the program for the rest of the week is filled with action and new acts whilst the ever popular old acts will form the mainstay of the afternoon show.
